Waggex does the same using an employee's face, verified through AI on the phone they already carry. The difference is that Waggex adds GPS verification. Every selfie is geo-tagged, so you know not just who marked attendance but exactly where they were standing when they did it. A biometric machine at an office entrance cannot tell you that.

When an employee opens the Waggex app to mark attendance, the front camera activates and the AI maps facial features in real time. These are compared against the template created during enrollment. The whole process takes under two seconds. Liveness detection confirms that it is a real person and not a printed photo or phone screen. The result is biometric-level accuracy without dedicated hardware.

It does not work. Waggex uses liveness detection that analyzes depth, movement, and light reflection to confirm the selfie is from a live face. Static photos, video replays, and 3D masks are rejected. Every punch is also GPS-tagged and time-stamped. If a check-in happens from an unexpected location or unusual time, the system automatically flags it on the dashboard.

Records are securely stored and automatically synced once the connection becomes available.

Waggex does not store employee photographs. During enrollment, the system creates an encrypted numerical template from the facial scan. This template is compared during each check-in while the original image is not retained. All templates and attendance records are encrypted both in transit and at rest. Access is restricted by roles so HR admins, managers, and employees only see the information relevant to them.
